Bluebird 757 Release Window and New Cockpit Model Unveiled in New Video

A new video shared over at the Bluebird Simulations website has been published which shows the progress that has been made towards the aircraft’s flight deck.

In the video, which comes in at just over a minute, we see the glare shield, MCP, PFD, thrust levels, backlighting, circuit breakers, overhead panels and more.

The team at Bluebird share in the adjoining section of the website that the flight deck model for the 757 has been meticulously designed by the team with all their dedication and expertise. The flight deck is ‘highly detailed’ and is being continually refined so as to achieve an ‘unparalleled level of immersion’.

The Bluebird team intend to ship the base package of the 757 with both the Pratt and RR engine options.

We also learn from this part of the website that the flight deck has already been through four iterations as the Bluebird team continually refine and enhance the visual fidelity. All of that work has been done to ‘meet the standards expected by flight simulation enthusiasts’.

Also on the website, there is a section on the external model although here we aren’t treated to any new details or video. We do learn that the team is including weathered paint on the wings though, suggesting that the final product will look more like a well worn and used 757 than something brand new off of the factory line.

It is all looking pretty well polished and complete now, which will lead many simmers to speculate as to when the plane will release. The team state publicly in their FAQ that the forecast release date for both the -200 and -300 variants is Q4 2023, although this could slip to early 2024 depending on some undisclosed factors.

The Boeing 757 for Microsoft Flight Simulator is targeting a release window of Q4 2023

Passenger variants of the Bluebird Simulations Boeing 757-200 and -300 for Microsoft Flight Simulator are intended to ship as a single base package, with the team’s stated goal being to include both the Pratt and Rolls Royce engines as well as both variants of winglets. As for the freighters, those are planned for an expansion pack which will include specialised systems and models specific to this type of operation.

FSElite will continue to keep you abeam of any updates relating to the upcoming release window of the Bluebird 757 as and when we receive them.
