Sim Skunk Works has added another aircraft to their growing line-up. The MSFS line-up, which so far contains the Fiat G.91, the TF-104-G Starfighter and the FR-104-G Starfighter, now includes the SIAI-Marchetti SF.260 (now Leonardo SF-260). The Italian designed aircraft flew first in July 1964, and was produced all the way until 2017. The aircraft was originally produced by Aviamilano, but shortly moved to SIAI-Marchetti after the aircraft’s maiden flight. SIAI-Marchetti was purchased by Aermacchi in 1997 who continued to produce the plane until finally phasing it out.
Sim Skunk Works rendition of the Leonardo SF-260 comes with a detailed exterior and interior model. The initial release features the SF version of the aircraft, with an upgrade for the SF.260EA (Enhanced Aircraft) being planned for the future.
The aircraft is fully animated according to the developer, while making sure it’s performance friendly. The textures are highly detailed and feature PBR, and a few different liveries have been included in the package. System wise, Sim Skunk Works states that almost all systems have been modelled to work and behave like their real-world counterpart, and the aircraft performance has been modelled close to the real aircraft performance tables.
